It's time to think about going racing again ! !

A note from Dave:

With the 2007 racing season about to begin I thought I should at least try to explain or map out the direction of "The Dion Bros.Racing Team" for this year and maybe beyond. It seems as though there are fewer and fewer options available for an "old fashion team" like ours every year with the sport changing so much.

Obviously our fans are the driving force for a lot of what we do and where we race, along with our sponsor Berlin City Ford, but we have to make sure we aren't "going into a gunfight with water pistol". We have always preferred the short tracks for obvious reasons but with NASCAR basically doing away with them, the Busch East series is becoming less of an option every year. The budget needed to compete is well beyond a "blue collar team" like ours and honestly not money well spent in my opinion. The cost and work involved will weigh heavily on our Busch East decision.

The PASS series is very competitive and we enjoyed "getting our feet wet" with them at a few races last year but our combination of engine never was very competitive. The crate motor isn't something we want to get involved with but it seems to have an edge that we can't ignore much longer if we want to win. We have been a "diehard Ford" team our entire career so running anything but a Ford is not an option in my mind.

Our first race will be the PASS race at Beech Ridge on April 21st and after that we will sit down as a team and try to decide what direction in 2007 is best for everyone.

Thanks for checking out our web site and I will be trying to bring you some news every week if I can to keep everyone informed. If anyone has any ideas to make the web site more interesting or exciting please let us know.

I hope everyone has a Happy Easter and I'll see you at "The Ridge" on the 21st.

Yours Truly,
Dave Dion
